PREP ROUNDUP : Wendt Leads Oilers Past San Clemente

Melissa Wendt had 26 kills to lead Huntington Beach to a 13-15, 15-7, 15-10, 18-16 victory over San Clemente in a nonleague girls’ volleyball match Thursday at Huntington Beach High.
Jill Meyers added 16 kills for the Oilers (1-0). Paige Spaulding and Wendy Wilkens each had 12 for San Clemente (0-1).
In other nonleague volleyball:
Capistrano Valley 3, Fountain Valley 1--K.T. Lamb had nine kills for Capistrano Valley (1-0), which won, 15-5, 8-15, 15-11, 15-9.
Laguna Hills 3, Century 2--Ashley Clark had eight kills and Annie Clark added seven kills and six aces for Laguna Hills (1-0), which won, 15-12, 15-3, 12-15, 12-15, 15-13.
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
Corona del Mar 13, Edison 5--Nina Vaughan swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 and Alissa Scott swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, for Corona del Mar (1-0). Edison played without top singles player Nichole Kojima.
