SAN CLEMENTE : Explosives Training Could Prove Noisy
- Share via
Residents may hear loud booms or feel rumblings in the ground this week during routine training exercises at Camp Pendleton.
The noises will be caused by the detonation of 1,750-pound line charge explosives as part of training exercises designed to teach units how to clear dangerous minefields, said Corp. Jay Connolly.
The detonations will occur today through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the explosions may be heard as far away as 50 miles.
