What an appropriate juxtaposition of articles in the Sept. 5 Times. Sen. Bob Dole piously attacking the “embarrassed-to-be-American crowd” (“Dole Calls for Ending Most Bilingual Classes”) and photos of armed law enforcement bureaucrats foolishly squandering tax dollars to ferret out, harvest and destroy marijuana bushes illegally growing in Ventura County. How could any thinking American not be embarrassed? I needed a beer and a cigarette to regain my composure.
