Matadors No Match for Pepperdine

MALIBU — Nicole Sanderson had 16 kills, six digs and six blocks as Pepperdine defeated Cal State Northridge, 15-10, 15-12, 15-0, in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Tuesday night at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Carrie Romer added 10 kills and Anna Witkowski had nine to help 23rd-ranked Pepperdine (9-1) to its ninth consecutive victory.
The loss was a school-record 10th in a row for Northridge (1-13) and marked the 10th time this season the Matadors have been swept.
Matador freshman Carrie Kapfenberg had 11 kills and eight digs. Erin Balderama added seven kills and eight digs for Northridge.
