Westlake 28, Royal 7--Running back Jamal Harris ran for three touchdowns and the Westlake defense forced six turnovers to lead host Westlake (4-3-1, 3-2) in a Marmonte League victory.
Harris (18 carries, 175 yards) scored on runs of 39 yards, two yards and one yard. The Warrior defense was spearheaded by sophomore Joey Cuppari’s three interceptions and Jerry Clary’s two fumble recoveries. Junior quarterback Casey Preston, making his first start, was 13 of 21 for 133 yards.
Royal (2-6, 1-4) got its lone score from running back Dorian Stitt (nine carries, 53 yards), who went over from 12 yards. Stitt also contributed two punt blocks.
