Obituaries : Charles F. Hussman; Longtime Resident, Navy Vet

Moorpark resident Charles F. Hussman, who had lived in Ventura County for 54 years, died Thursday in a Ventura convalescent hospital. He was 77.
Hussman was born Jan. 3, 1918, in New York City. A World War II Navy veteran, he came to Ventura County during his military service. Hussman worked for Shell Oil Co. for 25 years, retiring in the early 1970s as a compressor plant operator. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, in 1994. Survivors include his sister, Lucille Meyer of Greenbrae, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jim Wells officiating. Visitation is from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
