ALISO VIEJO — Aliso Niguel clinched its first playoff berth by defeating Estancia, 55-32, in a Pacific Coast League game Friday at Aliso Niguel.
The Wolverines (7-2, 3-1) scored on its first seven possessions to take control of the game.
Nick Gerasimou scored on a 10-yard run in the first quarter and then added a four-yard run early in the second quarter for a 14-0 lead.
Estancia’s Chris Felix cut the lead in half on a 27-yard run, but John Hefty returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown.
Felix added a 23-yard touchdown run to narrow the Wolverines’ lead to 21-12. However, Trent Perley scored on a five-yard run and then on a 35-yard scamper to put the game out of reach.
Perley led Aliso Niguel with 132 yards rushing in 18 carries and Bachy Gonzalez rushed for 180 yards in 27 carries for the Eagles (5-4, 1-3), who dropped out of playoff contention.
