San Marcos 52, Rio Mesa 12--Rick Cokas rushed 17 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns and Danny Ramirez rushed 18 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns for San Marcos (4-5, 3-3). Jerry Sanchez added 88 yards and two touchdowns in 16 carries.
Rio Mesa (2-7, 1-5) scored twice in the second quarter. Nate Haros dashed 60 yards on a reverse for the Spartans’ first touchdown and Bruce Samuel ran two yards for the second. Randy Hurt’s 43-yard reception from Farhaad Azimi set up Samuel’s touchdown.
Samuel rushed for 116 yards in 21 carries.
