Volleyball/Outside hitter
After losing four starters from the team that won its second consecutive South Coast League title, the Dolphins figured to have a rebuilding season. But last week they won two matches to gain a share of the league title. Bari played a big part. She had 29 kills, 10 digs and four blocks in a three-game sweep of then second-ranked San Clemente and 19 kills, 19 digs and five aces in a four-game victory over Capistrano Valley.
Cross-country
Allyson Marquand
* University, freshman. Won the Pacific Coast League individual title, finishing three miles in 17 minutes 23 seconds to lead the Trojans to the team title.
Volleyball
Kellie Alva
* Katella, senior. Had 27 kills in a five-game victory over Century to force a playoff for the Empire League’s final playoff spot. Had 20 kills in the four-game playoff victory over Century.
Sarah Cody
* Rosary, junior. Had 13 kills in a four-game victory over previously undefeated Ocean View. Had 11 in a four-game victory over Westminster as the Royals wrapped up a share of the league title.
Water polo
Robin Beauregard
* Marina, junior. Scored seven goals, including the game-winner in sudden-death overtime in an 8-7 victory over Long Beach Wilson in the title game of the Southern California girls’ championship.
