John Cahill, 65, the British businessman who became chairman of Trans World Airlines this year. The native Briton spent most of his career--38 years--with British Tire and Rubber Industries, beginning as a salesman, later managing its Canadian operations and eventually rising to president and chairman. After his retirement in 1991, he served as chairman of British Aerospace until moving to TWA. Cahill served in the British Army from 1947 to 1950. On Saturday in Providence, R.I.
