San Gabriel Valley : Dinner to Recognize Outstanding Youths

Twenty high school students from Arcadia will step out of the shadows of community service and into the limelight Tuesday at a dinner in their honor.
The Arcadia Ecumenical Action Group, an organization of local religious groups, is sponsoring the dinner to honor youth group leaders and volunteers at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“Our aim is to recognize the very special students who give so much to our community, but whose contribution so often goes unnoticed,” said the Rev. Russ Williams, of the Santa Anita Church.
Bill Davila, former president of Vons grocery stores, is scheduled to speak. Tickets are available through Monday for $10 at several Arcadia churches and synagogues.
