Southeast : HEPATITIS THREAT

The Long Beach Health Department has closed a city restaurant after at least 10 of its customers became ill with Hepatitis A.
City health officials on Tuesday recommended that anyone who ate at Berth 55 restaurant at 555 Pico Ave. in Long Beach between Sept. 23 and Oct. 26 consult a physician.
Symptoms of the disease include fever, malaise and abdominal pain, although not all people develop symptoms, officials said.
