Brigham Young football coach LaVell Edwards has reached agreement in principle to a multi-year extension of his contract, the university announced.
Specific details were not revealed, but BYU Athletic Director Rondo Fehlberg said it was expected to involve a series of milestones and incentives that could extend Edwards’ tenure for several years.
Edwards, who turned 65 in October, led BYU to a national title in 1984.
