Teflon Pasta

The man continues to amaze me: President Reagan’s Teflon personality is now evident in his favorite macaroni and cheese recipe (Menu Planner, “Hail to the Chefs,” Nov. 9). Imagine having the fat grams in such a deliciously rich dish just slide right away! I certainly hope that other mac and cheese lovers out there allow themselves more than one tablespoon per serving.

Actually, in this case, you can blame the press. We inadvertently ran the nutritional analyses for the menu’s cranberry dressing instead of President Reagan’s Macaroni and Cheese. Here are the correct figures:
Each serving contains about:
408 calories; 782 mg sodium; 99 mg cholesterol; 22 grams fat; 31 grams carbohydrates; 21 grams protein; 0.15 gram fiber.
