Venus, Mars and Jupiter are massed into a compact grouping during evening twilight. Venus is the brightest, Jupiter second brightest and Mars much fainter. Venus is approaching Jupiter and will pass it on the 18th. The crescent moon joins the three planets on Thanksgiving evening. Look low in the southwest at about 5:15 p.m., and use binoculars.
