Susan Heidmann’s day begins with pre-dawn swimming practice, stretches through classes and volleyball practice at Chino High and then into community service and homework that she does well enough to maintain a 4.2 grade-point average. All of that has made her one of 12 finalists for the first High School Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded in New York in December.
