In the Sonora boys’ basketball tournament:
Sonora 62, Tustin 57--Tournament co-MVPs Jeff Berikoff and Josh Lein led four Sonora players in double-figures with 18 and 14 points as the Raiders (8-2) won the championship.
In the Gary Raya Classic:
Corona 68, Canyon 41--Corona outscored Canyon in the second quarter, 25-10, en route to a tournament title. Kris Tengberg led Corona with 18 points.
William Byrd scored 15 points for Canyon.
David Lalazarian scored a game-high 30 points for Tustin (8-2).
In the Tournament of Champions:
Mater Dei 59, Long Beach Jordan 50--Kevin Augustine scored 22 points and Tom Lippold added 14 for champion Mater Dei (4-1). The Monarchs made 11 of 19 three-point attempts, including four of four from Troy Harrell.
In the Troy tournament:
Cypress 59, El Toro 34--Cypress used a 19-5 third-quarter advantage to put the game out of reach and win the tournament championship. Chad Boberg scored 18 points for the Centurions (9-1). Travis Senick had 11 points for El Toro (8-2).
Buena Park 66, Troy 65 (OT)--Towan Oliver tipped in Terrence Broussard’s miss for the game-winner at the buzzer as Buena Park (6-4) finished third. Oliver finished with 17 points.
Kris Green led Troy (5-5) with 18 points. The Warriors led after one quarter, 23-10.
