NBC Shows Bills-Dolphins at 10 Instead of Chiefs-Broncos at 1

Viewers on the West Coast who tuned into NBC Sunday at 1 p.m. expecting to watch the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs instead got Lexus Challenge golf.
Most television listings had Channel 4 showing Denver-Kansas City at 1 p.m, following the golf. But on Friday, NBC decided to instead show Miami-Buffalo on the West Coast at 10 a.m., and put on the golf after football.
Not a bad decision, but the problem was NBC was remiss in getting the word out, resulting in both The Times and Channel 4 being swamped with calls from angry viewers.
“We were informed of the change on Friday by [program director] Howard Fried, and reported it on our 4, 5 and 6 o’clock news shows,” said Channel 4 sports producer Kevin La Beach.
Unfortunately, that didn’t do newspaper readers any good.
