SANTA YNEZ--Order forms are available for the 14th annual Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival, April 20-21. Tickets are sold through a random drawing of orders received by Jan. 31. Remaining tickets are then sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The festival is 1-4 p.m. both days at Firestone Meadow. Tickets are $60. For an order form, call (800) 218-0881.
SANTA CRUZ--Observe migrating gray whales in the Monterey Bay Sanctuary aboard the 70-foot Chardonnay II. Cruises are offered Jan. 6-March at 10 a.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sundays. Cruises depart from the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. $37.50, plus tax, per person. Tel. (408) 423-1213.
SAN DIEGO--The gentle giants can also be observed on trips offered by the Stephen Birch Aquarium-Museum of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
