Not a Sheepish Opening: “Black Sheep,” the new release from Paramount starring Chris Farley and David Spade, proved not to be a black sheep at the box office during the weekend. The comedy took the No. 1 spot with $10.3 million. Another new release, Sony/Columbia’s “The Juror,” the legal thriller starring Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin, took in $8.7 million for second place, according to early industry estimates. Hollywood Pictures’ “Mr. Holland’s Opus” held its own against the newcomers with $8.3 million for third place in its third week in release. New Line’s “Bed of Roses” was fourth with $4.1 million; yet another new release, Hollywood Pictures’ “White Squall,” was close behind in fifth place with $4 million.
