Film Artists to Take a Look at the Future

Martin Scorsese, Robert Zemeckis, Mace Neufeld, Jack Valenti and Irwin Winkler are among the show-biz participants scheduled to take part in the 1996 Artists Rights Digital Technology Symposium, Feb. 15-16, at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood.
Titled “The Death of Copyright and the Future of Imaging,” the symposium will feature in-depth discussions on issues including computer-generated entertainment and its impact on film alteration, the status of existing legislation affecting digital technology and the current state of film preservation and electronic theater exhibition.
The symposium, which also will feature state-of-the-art exhibitions from sponsors of new technologies, is being held in conjunction with the John Huston Awards for Artists Rights dinner honoring Scorsese on Feb. 26 at the Century Plaza Hotel.
