Approval Granted for 9 New Homes

Filling in the gaps where development in Moorpark has leaped over a few parcels, the City Council has approved a small “in-fill” housing development on the east side of town.
At a meeting this week, the council approved a proposal by the Colmer Development Co. of Calabasas to build nine homes on a few vacant parcels in the Campus Hills section of the city.
“This is a small in-fill development,” Councilman Bernardo Perez said in describing the project.
Several opponents of large development proposals on the periphery of the city have argued that the city should focus more on in-fill construction within developed areas of the city before building on vacant hillsides around the town.
The Colmer homes would range in price from $215,000 to $240,000.
Construction should begin this spring.
