Curtis, from Pasadena Muir High, came to Orange Coast after meeting OCC assistant Herb Livsey at a summer camp. He helped OCC pull off the upset of the season last Wednesday, when he scored 23 points, including seven in the final two minutes, as the Pirates beat first-place Saddleback, 76-72. The victory stopped Saddleback’s 11-game winning streak. Curtis added 17 points as OCC beat Irvine Valley, 81-75, Friday. Curtis is averaging 15 points.

* Golden West, freshman. He scored 30 points against Cypress and 26 against Riverside, but the Rustlers lost both games.
