World IN BRIEF : BRITAIN : 3 Bombing Suspects Apparently Cleared

An Irish man injured when an IRA bomb exploded on a bus apparently was cleared as a suspect, and two other men arrested Monday were released without being charged. Scotland Yard also said officers had seized explosives and bomb-making equipment in a series of raids in London, but no further arrests were reported. Brendan Woolhead, 33, of Dublin had been under police guard at St. Thomas’ Hospital since he was injured Sunday along with eight others in an explosion on a double-decker bus in central London. British media had reported that he was a suspect in the bombing. But Scotland Yard had never publicly confirmed that, and the guards were withdrawn.
