Sharks Recover to Tie Bruins, Trade Janney

The Boston Bruins wasted an excellent chance to move into a tie for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot as the San Jose Sharks rallied from a 3-0 third-period deficit for a 3-3 tie Monday night at Boston.
San Jose tied the score with three goals in 11 minutes by Viktor Kozlov, Jan Caloun and Jeff Odgers, who scored at 15:46.
Earlier in the day, the Sharks traded center Craig Janney to the Winnipeg Jets for center Darren Turcotte and a second-round pick in this year’s draft.

Andrei Kovalenko scored two goals as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Buffalo Sabres, 3-2, at Montreal. . . . Geoff Sanderson scored twice, and Jeff Brown had a goal and three assists as the Hartford Whalers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, 6-3, at Hartford, Conn.

Pittsburgh Penguin right wing Tomas Sandstrom is expected to sit out four to six weeks because of a separated shoulder, while defenseman Ian Moran is out indefinitely because of a dislocated shoulder. . . . Chicago Blackhawk center Jeremy Roenick is listed as day-to-day because of a sprained right ankle.
