Marina del Rey Beach Is Reopened to Swimmers

Los Angeles County health officials reopened Marina del Rey beach to swimmers Friday. It was the last portion of a four-mile stretch of coast that had been closed after a sewage spill last weekend.
Water samplings at Marina del Rey beach showed that the bacteria count had dropped to a safe level, and people are no longer being advised to avoid the water, said Jack Petralia, director of environmental protection for the Department of Health Services.
