SMYRNA, Del. — James B. Clark Jr., 39, was put to death Friday for killing his adoptive parents in 1994, a month after he got out of prison for assaulting a child. Clark, executed by injection, had pleaded guilty and refused to appeal his sentence.
Just before he was executed, Clark yelled to his lawyer, Jerome Capone: “Hey, Jerry, hey listen, my soul is free, man. I’m in no more pain, you know. Thanks for everything, all right?”
