Lynne Fishel, who served as the county’s chief spokeswoman during much of its 14-month bankruptcy crisis, is leaving county government for a public affairs job at Southern California Edison.
Fishel, a Newport Beach resident, worked at the county for 14 years in a variety of jobs including assistant to former County Administrative Officer Ernie Schneider and aide to former Supervisor Bruce Nestande. She also worked in the Environmental Management Agency.
At Edison, Fishel will serve as a senior projects manager focusing on utility deregulation issues.
“I look forward to the challenges ahead,” Fishel said. “Leaving the relationships and people I’ve worked with over years is going to be hard.”
Tuesday was Fishel’s final day with the county.
