Bally Unveils Plan for Paris-Themed Resort: Groundbreaking is scheduled in August on a $500-million resort in Las Vegas with a 550-foot-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower. Bally Entertainment Corp.’s Paris Casino Resort will be the latest in a growing list of megaresorts sporting themes ranging from pyramids to pirates to the Big Apple. Completion is expected to take two years. The 2,900-room hotel will be built on a 24-acre site next to Bally’s hotel-casino. It will feature replicas of many Parisian landmarks, including a massive entryway replicating the Arc de Triomphe. Also included will be an 85,000-square-foot casino, six specialty restaurants and a 1,500-seat showroom.
