A handcuffed suspect escaped from Van Nuys detectives Wednesday morning after being arrested at his home for allegedly robbing a female acquaintance, police said.
Kenneth Carr, 26, was being questioned in an alley behind his home in the 6600 block of Kester Avenue about 7:15 a.m., when he fled, running between two apartment buildings and across Kester Avenue.
A perimeter was set up, but the suspect was not found.
The robbery occurred about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday in front of the woman’s Panorama City apartment complex. Carr allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and dragged her by the hair before fleeing with about $250, police said.
Carr was wearing a tan sweatshirt, beige pants and white T-shirt when he fled. He is described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.
