No. 4 Hart Burned by Chaminade, 54-51

Chaminade High is flying high.
The Eagles upset Hart, 54-51, in a quarterfinal game of the Simi Valley boys’ basketball tournament Wednesday night at Simi Valley High.
Brett Brownson scored 16 points for Chaminade, while Justin Stewart had 10 points and nine rebounds and Matt Chirba added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Chaminade (2-0) outscored Hart, 19-5, to take a 45-36 lead with 4:35 left in the game.
The Indians (1-1), ranked fourth in The Times’ regional poll, went scoreless for 4:24 early in the quarter but got to within 49-46 on a steal and layup by J.T. Stotts with 45 seconds left.
A basket by Stewart and three free throws kept the Indians at bay down the stretch.
Hart’s Cory Johnson, who had 30 points for the Indians in the first round, was limited to six before fouling out with 4:35 left. Stotts had 22 points for Hart.
