Nowhere in your article “Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics” (Nov. 29) do you identify the origin of the observation in the headline. Moreover, as your banner is not in quotes, we are led to believe this coinage springs from your writers rather than from the waggish imagination of its originator, Mark Twain.
