Grandmother, 70, Dies When House Collapses

PHILADELPHIA — A 70-year-old grandmother died when a row house collapsed Monday.
After spending more than three hours shoring up the home, firefighters tunneled through debris to the elderly victim and declared her dead, according to Fire Commissioner Harold Hairston. Authorities did not release her name.
