Aim Still Off for Matador Women

Cal State Northridge’s shooting woes continued in a consolation game of the New Mexico women’s basketball tournament Tuesday night.
The Matadors, who hit only one of 30 shots in the first half of Monday’s first-round defeat, made 19 of 69 shots and lost to New Mexico State, 62-47, in the consolation final.
Tannea Nelson scored 11 points for Northridge (1-6).
Jamilah Jones and Tammie Mills each added 10 points for the Matadors.
In other women’s basketball games:
Lawrence (Wis.) 62, Cal Lutheran 53--Missy Rider came off the bench to score 15 points for the Regals (5-2) in a loss at Cal Lutheran.
Molly Lieberman scored 29 points for Lawrence (5-0).
Cal State San Bernardino 60, The Master’s 44--Forward Kim DeVries had 17 points for the Mustangs at Master’s.
The Mustangs (8-4) led, 20-19, at the half but committed most of their 20 turnovers in the second half. Center Keisha Allison led Cal State San Bernardino (5-3) with 21 points.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Littlerock 13, Rosamond 0--Jessica Ramos scored five goals and Maribel Andrade added three for the Lobos (2-4) at Rosamond.
Cleveland 8, Reseda 0--Vicki Vasquez scored four goals, two in each half, for the Cavaliers (1-1) at Cleveland.
Brynne Blumstein scored twice and had five assists for Cleveland.
Louisville 1, L.A. Baptist 0--Nicole Farenbaugh scored midway through the second half for the Royals (3-2) at L.A. Baptist (0-1).
Canyon 1, Crescenta Valley 0--Nikki Melillo scored on an assist from Danielle Sozio for the Cowboys (4-1-3) at Canyon.
Harvard-Westlake 1, Marymount 0--Lizzie Fisher scored an unassisted goal in the first half for the Wolverines (5-2) at Harvard-Westlake.
Chaminade 1, Oak Park 0--Kerrie Clavadetscher scored on an assist from Jennifer Valentine for the visiting Eagles (7-0-1). Oak Park is 4-1-1.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Burroughs 1, Crescenta Valley 0--Junior midfielder Robbie Honicky scored off a corner kick in the final minute for the Indians (5-0-1) at Burroughs.
Buena 1, Ventura 0--Mike Bradbury scored on an assist from Robert Drescher midway through the second half for the Bulldogs (4-1-2, 1-0) in a Channel League match at Buena.
Palmdale 2, South Pasadena 1--Enrique Flores and Erick Villalobos each scored for the Falcons (6-0-2) in a second-round game of the La Canada tournament.
Crespi 5, L.A. Baptist 0--Justin Canel scored two goals for the Celts (3-1-1) at Crespi.
Fillmore 4, Oak Park 2--Francisco Zavala and Martin Arredondo each scored two goals for the Flashes (5-0, 2-0) in a Tri-Valley League match at Fillmore.
