Supplies Sought for Mexican Orphanage

Members of the Saddleback Community College District Faculty Assn. will travel to Rosarito on Monday to make food and supply donations to a Mexican orphanage.
Food, clothing, bedding, toiletries, medicine and school supplies are being collected for the delivery to La Puerta de Fe, an orphanage that is home to 80 children from the ages of 6 weeks to 16. Cash donations also will be accepted.
Robert Kopfstein, who teaches English at Saddleback College, said the association usually makes biannual trips to the orphanage. But this year, Kopfstein said, members decided to add a third trip after they visited the orphanage on Dec. 7 and discovered its shortages of food and other essential supplies.
The faculty association has assisted the orphanage since 1984.
People interested in making donations should contact Lee Walker at (714) 249-2581.
