PANORAMA CITY — A teenager died late Friday after he was stabbed and shot during a fight between two groups of young men outside an ice-cream store, authorities said.
David Sutton, 17, was with friends when they encountered several men outside the store in a strip mall in the 13770 block of Roscoe Boulevard near Woodman Avenue, Los Angeles Police Det. Peggy Moseley said.
A brawl ensued, and Sutton was stabbed with a sharp object and shot with a handgun, Moseley said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The suspects fled in a vehicle but were later detained by police, Moseley said.
Kumase Jefferson, 22; Robert Smith, 24; and Kido Smith, 27, all of Los Angeles, were booked into jail at the LAPD’s Van Nuys station on suspicion of murder, the detective said.
