Select’s Acquisition

SANTA ANA — Select Software Tools, a Santa Ana-based software company, said it has acquired a software product line from London-based Learmonth and Burchett Management Systems for $2 million. Select officials said the purchase of a product line called Systems Engineer will boost the company’s customer base by about 15,000. Both Select and Learmonth and Burchett make so-called software development tools--kits that enable users to build business management software. The acquisition was completed Monday.
