Double trouble: Sinnamonn Garrett of Crescenta Valley High, whose name includes four sets of double letters, might soon be averaging in double figures. Garrett, a freshman forward, is averaging eight points and six rebounds for the 12-2 Falcons.
Mat milestone: Highland senior wrestler Roland Aldabert, who is 25-3 at 125 pounds, last week set a school record with 144 career victories, breaking the previous mark of 141 set by Roger Izzo from 1992-95.
Highland (14-4), which launched its program in 1991, is three dual-meet victories shy of 200. The Bulldogs, who have won four Golden League championships, are 197-44-1 under Coach Mike Young.
Stuart Young, the coach’s son, is 20-4, including 14 pins, at 160 pounds.
Ray Torres of Royal is undefeated in 19 matches at 160 pounds and has placed first at three tournaments.
