Key League Showdowns Come Up Early

Play in most leagues begins Friday, with several key matchups, including a Sea View League showdown at Woodbridge High between El Toro and the defending league co-champion Warriors. Seventh-ranked El Toro has a 13-3 record; fifth-ranked Woodbridge is 10-3.
Third-ranked Los Alamitos (13-2) hosts defending Sunset League champion Esperanza (7-9). Defending Golden West League champion Tustin (11-4, 1-0) is at Servite (11-5, 0-1).
Top-ranked Mater Dei (13-2) plays in its campus gym Friday for the first time since 1991, when it hosts Mission Viejo (11-5) in a South Coast League opener.
