FOLSOM--Wearable art will be featured at the Quilts Show, Jan. 31-Feb. 2, at the Folsom Community Center. Traditional quilts will be on display, as well as quilted vests, jackets and ensemble outfits. Items are for show, not sale, but a queen-size quilt will be raffled, at $1 per ticket, and 25-cent tickets can be purchased for a chance to win one of a variety of handmade items. SAN DIEGO--It’s 4695, the Year of the Ox. The Chinese New Year Food & Cultural Faire will celebrate the event with activities including demonstrations of martial arts, Chinese cooking and folk dancers in traditional costumes. The festival will be held 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Feb. 1 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 2 in the north parking lot of the San Diego County Administration Building, 1600 Pacific Highway. SUTTER CREEK--For the young or young at heart, the Dolls, Toys and Teddy Bears Show and Sale will showcase a wide range of creations--from vintage to new. With prices ranging from $5 to $5,000, it’s not just kids’ stuff. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at Sutter Creek Auditorium, 18 Main St. $3 for adults; children under 12 free. PALM SPRINGS--The Italian Fiesta will bring a taste of Italy to the Palm Springs Pavilion Feb. 2. Home-style Italian food, from penne to polenta, and homemade baked goods and gift items will be on sale. There will also be live music and dancing. $5 per person; free for children 12 and under. EUREKA--A treasure hunt for live crabs is among activities in the Crab Festival, Feb. 8, downtown and in Old Town Eureka. Winners who uncover the most crabs in tanks at local businesses receive “Main Street bucks,” good as cash at local businesses. Among other events are storytelling and a display of more than 500 pieces of children’s maritime-themed art at 422 1st St. Clues for the crab hunt can also be picked up there. 1-4 p.m. Free.
