The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo hopes to hit a home run with its 29th annual “For the Kids” fund-raising dinner Thursday at Las Posas Country Club near Camarillo.
Olympic gold medalist Dr. Dot Richardson, shortstop for the U.S. women’s softball team, is the featured speaker at the event. Nine Camarillo girls selected by random drawing will share a limousine ride with Richardson prior to the dinner. The girls play softball with the Camarillo Girls Softball Assn. or at their local high schools.
Tickets for the dinner, which includes a cocktail hour, seafood buffet and an opportunity to meet Richardson, cost $200 per person. Today is the last day to make reservations. Call 482-8113 for reservations or more information.
