Moulden Does It All for Crescenta Valley

Sophomore Melinda Moulden pitched a three-hitter and had a double to lead Crescenta Valley High to a 6-0 nonleague softball victory over Canyon on Thursday at Montrose Park.
Moulden improved to 7-1.
Becca Baldridge had two hits and two stolen bases for Crescenta Valley (9-1) and Hope Robertshaw had a triple.
Santa Paula 4, Calabasas 1--Santa Paula (4-3, 3-0 in league play) parlayed four unearned runs into a Frontier League victory at Calabasas.
Sara Hall’s sixth-inning double drove in Meredith Eysz for the only run by Calabasas (2-7, 1-2). Eysz was three for four.
Buena 11, Ventura 1--Sophomore right-hander Amber Carr threw a two-hitter and had two hits and drove in a run for the Bulldogs (6-3-1, 3-0) in a Channel League game at Ventura.
Carr (2-1-1) struck out four with no walks.
Paraclete 9, Flintridge Prep 2--Ruth Anderson had two hits, including her second home run of the season, and drove in two runs for the Spirits (7-2) in a nonleague game at Paraclete.
Vicki McKay (6-1) scattered eight hits, striking out five and walking one, for Paraclete, ranked eighth in The Times’ regional poll.
Apple Valley 3, Palmdale 2--Vanessa Galaviz (2-2) scattered seven hits, striking out four and walking four, for host Palmdale (6-4) in a nonleague loss. Kristi DiMarco and Stephany Stone each had two hits for the Falcons and DiMarco had an RBI.
Apple Valley overcame a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the seventh.
Quartz Hill 2, Saugus 0--Jodie Cox threw a three-hitter for the Rebels, striking out nine, in a nonleague game at Quartz Hill.
Cox also had two hits, including a double, and scored both runs.
