A start-up airline will offer one-way economy fares from LAX to Brussels of $198 (plus airport and departure taxes) June 3 through June 30; then fares will begin at $294. Flights can be booked now.
The airline, called CityBird, is run by Brussels-based City Hotels, whose chairman, Victor Hasson, formerly ran EuroBelgian Airlines, a low-fare intra-European operation that he sold last year. Last month, CityBird began low-fare flights between Brussels and Mexico City, Miami and Orlando. It plans to add Newark on June 2, LAX on June 3 and Oakland on June 7.
Only two flights from LAX, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, are scheduled; Oakland will have a Saturday flight only, at the same fare as LAX.
Reservations: (888) CITY-BIRD.
