Shuttle Poised for Mir Rendezvous

The space shuttle Atlantis was set for an early morning blastoff after two minor technical problems were repaired, NASA officials said. The shuttle was to soar aloft at 4:08 a.m. EDT to pick up U.S. astronaut Jerry Linenger from Russia’s Mir space station and drop off replacement Mike Foale. Launch pad workers at the shuttle’s Kennedy Space Center launch site fixed the glitches, an official said.
