School Budget Workshop Is Monday
School board trustees will hold a workshop Monday on the 1997-98 budget.
Officials are projecting Capistrano Unified School District’s general fund budget at $178 million.
Based on state forecasts, the district can expect a $13.4-million revenue increase over the current year.
The district projects that expenditures will increase by $12.6 million, much of that from the addition of teachers and support staff to accommodate class-size reductions in primary grades and the opening of new campuses.
However, district officials said this week that the budget numbers may change after a review of state revenue and expenditure projections.
The board is set to adopt the final budget June 23.
Monday’s session will be at 7 p.m. in the district office, 32972 Calle Perfecto.
Information: (714) 489-7000.
