I recently had the 1995 Ponzi Vineyard Arneis with a big bowl of steamed mussels, and it was the best Oregon white wine I’ve ever had. It reminds me of a Semillon with better acidity. It’s relatively subtle, with some melon and citrus, and it’s good texturally without being overly fat. Coming from a cool climate, it had good acidity, and they didn’t mess with it with any oak that I could tell. It was a beautiful rendering of the grape.
