LAGUNA BEACH — An Orange County group that raises funds to protect Laguna Coast Wilderness Park has received $300,000 from an individual donor.
Officials with Laguna Canyon Foundation, a coalition of business, government and environmental interests, said the gift is the largest in the group’s six-year history, representing about three times its annual budget. The donor, they said, requested anonymity.
“We can now take a deep breath and know our foundation is going to be around for a long time,” said executive director Mary Fegraus.
Foundation officials had requested a gift from the individual, “but we didn’t know it would be of this magnitude,” she said.
