Rod Baker, former UC Irvine basketball coach, is one of four finalists for an assistant coaching position at Rhode Island, a school official said Tuesday.
A decision could come today, according to Rhode Island sports information director Mike Ballweg.
Former UCLA Coach Jim Harrick was hired as Rhode Island coach in May. Baker said Tuesday he has not had “any substantive” talks with Harrick.
Baker, 45, was fired from Irvine after six seasons during which his teams compiled a 52-116 record. The Anteaters were 1-25 last season.
