La Quinta Wins With Home Runs

Shaun Larkin, Gerald Laird, and Morey Aldrup hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the bottom of the third for La Quinta, which went on to a 12-4 victory against Beaumont in a Southern Section Division IV second-round baseball game Tuesday at La Quinta.
Larkin had a solo homer in the first to go with his two-run shot in the third for La Quinta (25-4).
Laird’s home run in the third was his 14th. Laird was two for four with two RBIs.
In other Division IV games:
Magnolia 7, Covina Gladstone 2--Joe Camarillo was three for four, including a home run, had two stolen bases, an RBI, and three runs scored for fourth-seeded Magnolia (22-2-1), which advanced to the quarterfinals.
Art Garland was two for four with two RBIs for Magnolia.
In Division I:
Mater Dei 9, Long Beach Lakewood 6--Brett Kay was four for four with three runs scored and Pat Manning had two hits and three RBIs for Mater Dei (24-3).
Esperanza 5, Corona 3--Tommy Nicholson had two hits and two RBIs for Esperanza (23-5).
Encino Crespi 10, Servite 9--Greg Cicero had two hits and three RBIs for Servite (24-4).
In Division V:
Calvary Chapel 5, Riverside Woodcrest Christian 4 (10)--Matt Beebe stole second and scored the game winner on consecutive throwing errors in the bottom of the 10th for Calvary Chapel (16-10).
Brethren Christian 8, Boron 2--Aaron Ireland had a three-run home run, his 12th, for host Brethren Christian (20-7).
In Division VI:
Southern California Christian 4, La Verne Lutheran 3 (8)--James Brantley singled with two outs to score Tony Chandler from third for the game winner for Southern California Christian (7-8).
