Officer Fires at Car That Hit Partner

ANAHEIM — An Anaheim police officer fired several gunshots at the occupants of a speeding car late Saturday night, after the driver hit his partner and then fled the scene. Anaheim police officials said.
The officer hit by the car suffered minor scrapes and bruises, Officer Rich Estrada said.
There were no details on why the car might have hit the officer, who was on foot.
Estrada said the occupants left the vehicle about 15 minutes after they hit the officer about 9:45 p.m., apparently continuing their flight on foot.
With the suspects still at large at 10:30 p.m., Garden Grove police joined Anaheim officers in a door-to-door search of the neighborhood a block from Disneyland where the officer was hit.
The neighborhood, near West Street and Casa Grande Avenue, is lined with small single-family homes and apartment complexes that are home to many employees of the amusement park.
